Alba Pujals

About the Nominee

Alba Pujals is a rising force on the international jazz scene—an innovative trombonist, composer, and educator known for her distinctive sound and creative vision. She has performed at leading venues such as the North Sea Jazz Festival, Palau de la Música Catalana, Bimhuis, and Lincoln Center, sharing the stage with artists including Wynton Marsalis, Joshua Redman, Perico Sambeat, and C. Tangana. Awarded Best New Jazz Artist by Enderrock in 2023, she released her debut album Apologia that same year, followed by projects including Two Slides and her latest work, Sincretisme (2025), which she continues to present internationally. A graduate of the Juilliard School and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Pujals is currently a jazz trombone professor at ESMuC and collaborates with the radio program Músiques Empoderades on 3Cat.
