UPBEAT AWARDS 2026
Nominee for BEST NEW TALENT

Nama Dama

About the Nominee

Nama Dama is a Cyprus based performer and multidisciplinary artist. Working at the intersection of folk, electronic music and contemporary ritual, she creates immersive performances that blur the line between concert and ceremony. Since launching her solo project in 2019, she has developed a distinctive practice centred on live looping, layered vocals and theatrical presence. Following her debut EP Confessions to My Songbird (2021), she has performed across Europe, including Glastonbury Festival, Tremor Festival (Azores), Athens Music Week, PIN Music Conference (Skopje) and Pulsar Festival (Samothraki). In 2024, she was awarded Young Artist of the Year by the Cyprus Theatre Organisation. Her current work, PAGAN SOUL, blends ancestral elements with contemporary sound, drawing from her Cypriot and Pontic Greek roots and her connection to Ukraine.
